Orita.Sinclair - School of Art and New Media was established in April 2003. It is the first School in Singapore to offer the Diploma and Advance Diplomas in New Media Art and Design Communication. These programmes are offered in both full-time and part-time modes.
With the ever increasing demand in the world’s market for expertise in multimedia and design, the School of Art & New Media has created unique programmes to fulfill those needs. The School offers opportunities to those who want to develop an exciting and lucrative career in the areas of Graphic Design, Classical Animation, CG Animation, Video, Web Design and Interactive Media.
The Diplomas and Advance Diplomas are springboards for creative multimedia artists and designers of the future to achieve their goals; all graduates leave with the necessary knowledge and skills required as well as a professional portfolio. The School recognizes the importance of showcasing one’s own creative works for the purposes of joining the industry, further studies or upgrading skills.
Course designers and lecturers involved in the programmes are professionals with significant experience in both related industries and art education. The School understands the need for close guidance of each individual student, hence the limited number of 12 students per cohort. Full-time diploma students are also provided with their own desktop computer to take home in order to facilitate them in their studies (the computers belong to the students as long as they complete the programme).
Orita.Sinclair - School of Art & New Media is registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and is an industry partner with the Media Development Authority (MDA). The School is also registered with the Skills Development Fund (SDF).
The MDA’s Media Education Scheme welcomes the School of Art & New Media diploma and advance diploma graduates to apply for grants to futher their studies both locally or internationally.
The School of Art & New Media also offers certificate courses (short courses) to help retrain and upgrade industry.
