The Advance Diploma in Design Communication is a 9 months + 3 months internship/ live project programme with 520 hours (excluding internship) of intensive training and personal in-the-studio mentoring & lectures.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Diploma in Design Communication or equivalent.
  2. Portfolio
  3. Minimum 16 years of age.
  4. A pass in any 3 subjects (inclusive of English*) at N Level or equivalent.
  5. For applicants who do not meet requirement 1 or 4, a placement test is administered before an applicant can be enrolled into this course. Entry into the course is dependent on results of the placement test. Applicants with substantial industry practice will be interviewed and attended to on a case by case basis.
SPECIALIST

Focuses on developing brand strategies for industries ranging from F&B to non-profit organisations. Conduct research and analysis to understand the values and structure of a business and capture the personality of a brand so that it encompasses the valuable qualities of the client. The entire branding process may incorporate print, web or even be environmental depending on the nature of the project.

Introduces students to business planning and strategy development. Students will learn to conduct industry research and market and financial analysis in building businesses. At the end of the module, students should be able to articulate management processes, strategies and financial projections to stakeholders in an effective business proposal and through a visually aided presentation.

Introduces students to business planning and strategy development. Students will learn to conduct industry research and market and financial analysis in building businesses. At the end of the module, students should be able to articulate management processes, strategies and financial projections to stakeholders in an effective business proposal and through a visually aided presentation.

ADVANCED

Focuses on visual communication in the changing social environment in Singapore. Students will discuss art and design trends that contribute to the information communicated to the society. Students are expected to adopt multiple approaches to gather evidence using available information as well as develop self-generated content through practice, collaboration with artists and designers or amongst course mates.

Focuses on applying your creative concepts on a variety of media platforms to design a holistic advertising campaign. Students will study the changing consumer behavior that led to changes in the types of media choices to continue to engage and retain the interest of your target audience.

Total hours: 60 hours

This module aims to broaden the learning experiences, skills and knowledge of the Advanced Diploma students and to provide for their varied learning needs and styles. Elective modules cover a range of design industry niches, opening up possibilities that extend beyond their current scope of design education. Students will extend and build on the learning objectives of existing design modules.

Builds on helping students develop a body of work for the purpose of entry to college or the creative workforce. Students attending this module will refine or renew their current portfolio to contextualize their practice to suit current trends. Students will be taught by various tutors and will receive feedback and advices on what constitutes to a good and relevant portfolio.

INTERNSHIP

Students will take on an internship and will be mentored by highly experienced industry experts. This module will enable the student to work together with creative directors, art directors and other project managers, which will in turn develop the student’s conceptual and execution skills within a live studio environment.

NOTE: In the event whereby training work permit is not granted, we will offer “Live Project” as an alternative for internship placement.
