Congratulations to our Alumni!
Like a beaming proud mother, we are delighted to announce that two of our alumni have recently been accepted into Griffith University’s Bachelor of Design Programme. Congratulations, Kai Hui and Terrix!
Not satisfied with just being one of Australia’s most innovative institutions, Griffith University also happens to be ranked in the top 4% of universities worldwide. We are therefore immensely proud and excited for the new paths our accepted alumni are about to undertake. They have also earned a semester’s exemption from their credits with us.
Orita Sinclair salutes you!

Public Library Collection Booth
Hear ye, hear ye!
The third exciting installment of creative flea market Public Garden returns again.
Orita Sinclair is proud to be participating in this with the debut of the Public Library Collection Booth!
The Public Library Collection Booth was conceptualised to give used reading materials a new home to students of all creative disciplines.
Design books / magazines collected from studios, designers and the public, are up for grabs (for free!) for students on the day of the event.
Together with the good people of Public Garden, this booth was created with the dual purpose of helping out cash-strapped students, as well giving excellent reading materials a new life.
Join us there this Saturday, 18th February, at Goodman Arts Centre from 1—8pm.

— Find out more about Public Garden here, or follow them on Twitter.
We’ve just received 4-year EduTrust certification!

It is with great honour that we’re sharing this piece of exciting news with you— We’ve just been awarded 4-year EduTrust certification from the Council for Private Education (CPE)!
EduTrust is a voluntary certification scheme that helps to distinguish the quality players in Singapore’s private education industry. Private institutions are only able to offer placement for international students requiring student passes with it. Receiving the EduTrust mark is a stamp of trust and integrity.
We are humbled and excited with this endorsement. And clearly excited to bring higher quality design learning to all current and future students.
Look out for us, world.
Speak Cryptic: Future Proof show at Singapore Art Museum

One of our most loved adjunct lecturers (with student satisfaction ratings scoring sky high), Farizwan Fajari —better known by his artist moniker, Speak Cryptic— was recently commissioned to do a mural on the walls of Singapore Art Museum, part of “The Singapore Show: Future Proof”.
Stretching over four levels of stairwells, visitors were welcomed into the world of ‘Ka-Khé‘ as they ascended to view different sections of the exhibition.
The result of 7 intensive days of tireless work, Ka-Khe is an immersion back into Farizuan’s Baweanese roots, a deeper study into his culture and his personal journey of self-identity and acceptance.
With a solid cast of local artists from all kinds of specialities and backgrounds, The Singapore Show: Future Proof also features works from Clog 2, Dawn Ng and :phunk studio, just to name a few.
Definitely a show worth visiting, it’s on at SAM at 8Q until 15 April 2012.

An artist tour and workshop by Farizuan/ Speak Cryptic is also slated to happen on 18 Feb 2012. If there’s anything we can bet on, this is something worth hearing and going to. Get your tickets at Sistic.
Check out more images of the mural here.

K/9/S Collective Launch Event
9 Fountains has collaborated with Kult and Sifr to create a line of limited edition, super-premium graphic t-shirts.
Orita Sinclair and IS magazine will be sponsoring this massive show of home-grown fellowship to be held at Black Market 2.
The K/9/S collection consists of fifteen Singapore based designs handpicked from the range of international artwork in Kult Magazine’s “Animals” issue.
The issue–and resulting t-shirt collection–is full of facts about animals, visualized by some of the most exciting artists working in the world today. The Kult artwork is intended to “create a stronger bond between man and animal by increasing understanding” while the selections shine a spotlight on the thriving but oftentimes subterranean local art community in Singapore. This limited edition run (40 per design) will also showcase Sifr’s premium pima cotton t-shirts and 9 Fountains’ highly-detailed and vivid printing.
On October 6th, the exclusive launch party will give attendees the chance to meet the artists and experience the artwork/ collection for the first time.
A special pre-order sale will take place on-line at 9fountains.com from September 15th-30th where consumers can reserve the t-shirt of their choosing at a discounted price, with the first 50 customers receiving a special invitation to the launch event.
See you there!
