Speak Cryptic: Future Proof show at Singapore Art Museum

One of our most loved adjunct lecturers (with student satisfaction ratings scoring sky high), Farizwan Fajari —better known by his artist moniker, Speak Cryptic— was recently commissioned to do a mural on the walls of Singapore Art Museum, part of “The Singapore Show: Future Proof”.

Stretching over four levels of stairwells, visitors were welcomed into the world of ‘Ka-Khé‘ as they ascended to view different sections of the exhibition.

The result of 7 intensive days of tireless work, Ka-Khe is an immersion back into Farizuan’s Baweanese roots, a deeper study into his culture and his personal journey of self-identity and acceptance.

With a solid cast of local artists from all kinds of specialities and backgrounds, The Singapore Show: Future Proof also features works from Clog 2, Dawn Ng and :phunk studio, just to name a few.

Definitely a show worth visiting, it’s on at SAM at 8Q until 15 April 2012.

An artist tour and workshop by Farizuan/ Speak Cryptic is also slated to happen on 18 Feb 2012. If there’s anything we can bet on, this is something worth hearing and going to. Get your tickets at Sistic.

K/9/S Collective Launch Event

9 Fountains has collaborated with Kult and Sifr to create a line of limited edition, super-premium graphic t-shirts.

Orita Sinclair and IS magazine will be sponsoring this massive show of home-grown fellowship to be held at Black Market 2.

The K/9/S collection consists of fifteen Singapore based designs handpicked from the range of international artwork in Kult Magazine’s “Animals” issue.

The issue–and resulting t-shirt collection–is full of facts about animals, visualized by some of the most exciting artists working in the world today. The Kult artwork is intended to “create a stronger bond between man and animal by increasing understanding” while the selections shine a spotlight on the thriving but oftentimes subterranean local art community in Singapore. This limited edition run (40 per design) will also showcase Sifr’s premium pima cotton t-shirts and 9 Fountains’ highly-detailed and vivid printing.

On October 6th, the exclusive launch party will give attendees the chance to meet the artists and experience the artwork/ collection for the first time.

A special pre-order sale will take place on-line at 9fountains.com from September 15th-30th where consumers can reserve the t-shirt of their choosing at a discounted price, with the first 50 customers receiving a special invitation to the launch event.

See you there!
