Diploma in Design Communication -
Part-time (For Local and PR only)
The Diploma in Design Communication programme springboards students into a career in graphic design,
packaging design, advertising design, web and interactive media design.
Students will acquire the necessary knowledge, skills and techniques to creating an industry standard portfolio. Students will develop an awareness of basic perception, graphic design skills and theories to packaging, advertising, interactive web and media design as well as computer graphics animation, digital imaging and video
editing.
This course is designed for those who have the ambition to be involved in the creative industries. The programme begins with the basic fundamentals in design, therefore, students need not enter the course with
prior art or technical knowledge.
The Course designers and lecturers are professionals and experts with significant experience in both related industries and art education. The School has established a strong curriculum which creates equal opportunities for technical, conceptual and creative development. The curriculum itself is fully approved by
the Ministry of Education.
As there are no more than twelve students per cohort, lecturers are able to better communicate with each student as well as giving them closer supervision and guidance. The small numbers also allows students to interact and work with each other, simulating an industry team situation. The Diploma focuses on each student's creative potential as well as nurture their skills and abilities to develop themselves as unique and confident
individuals.
Students will be taught by professionals from art education and industry. Classes will be conducted in two studios, sound space and multi-purpose gallery with all the necessary facilities to conduct the course.
