1. What is Orita.Sinclair - School of Art and New Media?

Registered with the Ministry of Education, we are the very first Art school in Singapore to offer a nine month Diploma and six month Advanced Diploma in New Media Art since 2003.

When you join us you will learn how to achieve your professional goals in ANIMATION, INTERACTIVE MEDIA, VIDEO and GRAPHIC DESIGN and turn your career into your lifestyle!

2. How will I learn?

We will provide you with a team of dedicated lecturers. You will learn in a small group. A unique and conducive environment will contribute to the your development, your creative potential and your way of seeing and thinking.

5. Why an Advanced Diploma in New Media Art?

Due to competitiveness in the industry, it is clear that there is a need for those who have a diploma or are already in the industry to further develop their abilities and/or upgrade themselves in this field.

The professional portfolio developed during this programme will provide candidates the opportunity to pursue further studies or upgrade themselves in the industry.

6. What will students be taught in this course?

Students will be taught to develop their thinking and conceptual ability in a creative and artistic way.

They will be introduced to Electronic Art Theory, Scriptwriting, Advanced Media Integration, Project Development & Production and Presentation.

Students are expected to spend a number of self-study hours for each subject.

7. How was the syllabus developed?

Through considerable observation of the market needs and experience in art education and curriculum development, this syllabus was developed by a team of professionals and it was developed with the needs and directions of students in mind.

What students learn will be applicable to any changes or trends that take place in the future.

8. Why is this course limited to a small number of students?

We do not take more than ten to twleve students per class and this is to enable quality teaching and time between lecturers and students.

This will provide students with the necessary guidance and supervision.

This way of teaching would be closer to the European standard where students are taught in small numbers.

As the numbers of students grow, the School will employ more qualified lecturers and still maintain the same number of students per class.

10. How is quality teaching ensured?

The School employs lecturers who are professionals in art education and industry. All lecturers are university graduates from various institutions such as the Royal College of Art, Birmingham Institute of Art & Design from the University of Central England, Pratt Institute in New York to name a few.

Students will receive a focused education in their chosen field of study and the opportunity to further develop their creative abilities in various ways.
