As part of the school’s continued support for the elderly, a team from Orita Sinclair volunteered with seniors living at the Bukit Merah HDB estates. Many elderly increasingly suffer from mental and emotional strains with age. Riding on the stark reality of Retiree Singaporeans where their general mental and emotional wellbeing were clearly low, our students-lecturer-and management staff were driven by the common desire to contribute a little time to share joy and bring some happiness to those in need, our students, lecturer and management staff joined hands to distribute food and visit the elderly.

It was with no doubt an enriching day for the volunteers who witnessed the joy and delight on the elderlies’ faces and felt their lifted abd encouraged spirit. Students returned with greater appreciation to their parents who had worked hard and provided them throughout their lives. Community outreach and volunteerism also reminds us of the higher purpose of life and provides a deeper meaning to our education, which is to give back to those less fortunates.
