The Advanced Diploma Programme
Advanced Diploma in Music Production aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and proficiencies to develop their artistic concept, their musical products and to arm students with adequate proficiencies in business and marketing in order to promote their music to a wider audience. The Advanced Diploma in Music Production will culminate in a regional/international TOUR in which students will actually have to go on TOUR in which they will apply all knowledge and skills learnt from the programme. The average teacher to student ratio for the course is 1:10.

Artiste & Product Development
Synopsis:
This module introduces students to the field of A&R (Artist and Repertoire), which emphasizes the development of the overall artist concept and development of the product i.e. the music, the repertoire and the live show.
Objectives:
The objective of this module is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills for the visual and musical development of the artist as a complete package, to equip students with the ability to effectively develop a musical repertoire that is congruent with the artistic image.

Music Marketing & Promotion
Synopsis:
This module introduces students to the concepts and strategies for promoting and marketing their music to a wider audience. Students will learn to design effective marketing collateral, websites and social media; and how to develop a successful online campaign to promote the music release.
Objectives:
The aim of this module is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skill sets needed to effectively market a professional music release, to introduce students to market research and comparative analysis in order to determine pricing, effective avenues for marketing & sales, promotional tactics and product range, to arm students with the ability to plan effective marketing strategies for music products.

The Business of Music
Synopsis:
This module explores the business aspect of making music in the world today. This module introduces students to both the traditional business models of record and publishing companies, music distribution as well as newer internet-based business models. Students will explore fundamental business and financial planning concepts, the various revenue streams available to the artiste such as live performance, event management & sponsorship, licensing & publishing, sales and distribution, digital downloads & streaming and merchandising. Students will also learn how to plan and hold an actual music event/gig, at a local establishment as part of the module.
Objectives:
This objective of the module is to equip students with a strong skills and competencies in music business to prepare them for a career in the music industry or for entrepreneurship, to equip students with competency in business communication and writing skills.

Performance Management
Synopsis:
In this module, students will explore artistic and musical concepts to develop their performance brand, in terms of image, performance style, individuality and choreography, all to create a unique performance persona for the stage. The module will also introduce students to methods to develop an effective practice plan for self-learning and proficiency training. Students will explore ways to develop a repertoire, modify the arrangements for live performance and create interesting visual elements to support the performance. Students will also explore performance strategies such as music & movement, stage presence, crowd interaction and basic choreography.
Objectives:
The aim of this module is to equip students with the required knowledge and skills needed in putting up a professional music performance, to introduce students to strategies to effectively implement a practice regimen for the learning of their principal instrument, to explore various modes self expression through improvisation, adaptation and performance of a piece of music, to introduce students to transcription and transposition, to teach students how to plan and develop effective repertoire for touring.

Harmony II
Synopsis:
This module introduces students to music theory at an intermediate level. Building on the foundation set in Harmony 1, students will learn the various modes and their applications, blues and introductory jazz harmony. Students will also explore chord (ex)tensions and how to effectively use them beyond traditional pop and rock applications. By the end of the module, students will have acquired the knowledge, proficiency at writing the more demanding music styles of today’s music.
Objectives:
The aim of this module is to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed in understanding intermediate level harmony as used in today’s contemporary music, to teach students how to use these concepts in their writing, performance and analyses of contemporary music, to introduce students to the basics of jazz- and blues harmony.

Advanced Video Production
Synopsis:
This module introduces students to video production in the live context and in creating effective storytelling for social media. Students will learn how to capture footage of a live performance, and how to edit coherently and effectively to produce multiangle footage of the event. Students will also learn how to produce effective interview footage while documenting their tour. Students will also learn the editing skills to produce the footage to culminate into a 20 minute ‘rockumentary’ of their tour experience.
Objectives:
The objective of the module is to equip students will the knowledge and skills in planning and preproduction for multi angle video production, multi angle video capture of a live show, storyboarding for documentary, filming for interview, video editing for documentary.

Live Music Production
Synopsis:
This module introduces students to multitrack recording a live music performance and the post production strategies such as rerecording, overdubbing, reamping and layering to enhance the production value. Students will learn the various roles in live production such as live sound reinforcement and live sound recording and how to prepare the soundtrack for the recorded video.
Objectives:
The objective of this module is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to record a live multi-tracked band performance in both stage and studio situations, explore techniques to emphasize capturing both the musical interaction and ‘vibe’, record the best tones with the least possible bleed, post production techniques to enhance the live recording, overdubbing and reamping.

Touring
Synopsis:
This module explores all the necessary planning and preparation needed in executing a tour to support the music release, in terms of promotion, publicity, booking dates, negotiations, logistics, budgeting, revenue and accounting. The module culminates in an actual tour where students will put up performances at a string of locations in neighbouring countries. Students will perform and promote their own music as well as take on a variety of roles ranging from live sound, recording, filming and photography when supporting other student artistes on tour. Students will acquire their own video and footage to document their journey through Youtube and the various social media Facebook, Google+, Instagram and Twitter and write regular updates while on tour on their respective artiste websites. After the tour, students will put together a presentation reflecting on their tour experience, both positive and negative, the social dynamics within the group, lessons learnt and areas for improvement.
Objectives:
The objective of the module is to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills in organizing and executing a music performance tour, to enable students to experience an actual professional tour to promote their works and explore the various revenue generating streams that can be sourced from it.

As an esteemed Audio Director, Rufus has been credited innumerably for having recorded and produced music for film, Mediacorp television & Radio, Computer games, theatre, in teractive media and various independent artistes. He has been featured in Channel News Asia and Sconisccoop, for his majir involvement with Lion Studios. Mentored by the late British Engineer John Herbert in the art and science of Studio Production, Rufus is regarded for his teaching and supervisory abilities. He graduated with 1st Class Honors in Audio Production from School of Audio Engineering and his research interests are in the areas of sound synthesis/analysis/control/simulation, spectral analysis, small/large environment control room acoustics, audio quality/degradation, multichannel recording/mixing and mastering.

Vinod has been avid music performer since young, later branching out and specializing in audio engineering. He developed a keen interest in the recording arts and obtained his degree in Audio Engineering and Music Production from JMC Academy in Melbourne, Australia. His skills led him to work on the Sound Design and mixing of short film called “Fixed” which became the official selections of Film Festivals in Melbourne, Iran and Mexico. It was also accepted by the 18th Bicycle Film Festival in New York. Not only restricting himself to the recording aspect of music, his passion for performance and music brought him most recently to Brisbane, Australia to play at the Dead of Winter Festival 2019 as well as being able to open for Multi Major award winner Hariharan when he came to Singapore mid-2019. Other international acts he as opened for include: Immolation (NYC), Venom Inc (UK), The Exploited (UK).

Alex (DJ Alx) is Music Producer, Musician and Sound Engineer who hails from Portugal and is currently based in Singapore. He graduated from Instituto Superior de Linguas e Administracao with a Bachelor’s Degree in English/French Translation and he has spent the last 20 years honing his music craft. He is, we are proud to say, also a recent graduate of Orita Sinclair’s Diploma in Music Production and Audio Engineering. Alex recently had his collaboration with Masia One featured on Netflix Altered Carbon Season 2 OST and also composed the Ti Tou Tao (Mediacorp Channel 5 Series) theme song alongside Masia One. He is the music Curator for Suka-Suka Sundays, and resident DJ in Sub City Lion City Bass, Kampong Boogie and Ginga! where he invites DJs from Singapore and abroad to share the booth with him at White Label Record. As a musician, Alex was part of Macaco do Chines (guitarist/singer/producer), a band that were pioneered in crossing Hip-Hop, Dubstep and Grime with Portuguese traditional music. He released two critically acclaimed albums and a mixtape. Macacos do Chines toured both nationally and internationally, playing in headline festivals like Rock In Rio and starred in MTV’s Brand New TV concerts. As a DnB producer, he has been working closely and producing for Skalator Music, one of the most refreshing labels coming out of Portugal. His debut single at the end of last year, Babylon Man, got 4/5 in DJ MAG UK.

He’s a passionate guitarist and is well-versed with Waves Sound Design Suite Plugins and Positive Grid Vias Desktop Guitar Amp Emulation. His recent works include recording audio on set, mixing audio and producing sound design for video for Dramas and TVC corporate videos.

Specializing in music production, Reuben has produced various acts over the past 3 years, including The Reckless Skies, a pop-punk band in which he is also on vocals and guitar. He is proficient in audio engineering and recording techniques while also well-versed in composing and arranging. Since 2016, his passion for music has led him to being both an assistant music producer at homegrown production house United Records and a music director in his church.

Singaporean producer Cravism has always been immersed in Hip-hop culture. Besides being a professional b-boy, Cravism began playing the piano and trumpet in the early 2000s, which progressed into recording and producing his own music. His music has been featured in Berlin, Hong Kong, London, Mexico City, Milan, moscow, paris, and Seoul for the Adidas Originals Flagship Store has been used by many documentary videos such as The Cuppa Depresso, Elevate the Streets, Dead was the Body and many more. Cravism has also performed around Singapore and the United Kingdom, opening shows for big names such as Slum Village, Cosmo Midnight and others.

Edwin Wijaya is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the music recording and audio-post production industry. Edwin completed a Diploma in Film, Sound and Video in Ngee Ann Polytechnic before receiving a Bachelor of Science in Computing and Software Engineering from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom in 2005.
Even before his undergraduate studies, Edwin was cutting his teeth at Audioplex Pte Ltd, working with analog tape and digital machines and using Neve and SSL analog boards. Since then he has worked on a range of live and recorded events in many roles including sound designer, foley and surround pre-mix engineer, location sound mixer, vocal recording engineer and many more.
He is an Avid Certified Instructor with deep knowledge and experience in audio software including Pro-tools, Nuendo, Logic Pro, Reaper, Ableton Live, Max among others. He is currently working with IMS Mahajak Pro Audio Pte Ltd and has been involved in the audio system design and installation of Dolby Atmos Certified studios at Mocha Labs and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory, NUS.
