WSQ Music Design for Games

Course Description

Designed in collaboration with local and international game studios and audio designers, Music Design for Games is ideal for songwriters, arrangers and composers to cross over into the exciting and booming video game industry. You will also be introduced to tools you can use to track the usage of your compositions for commercial success. Upon completion, you will be able to compose music that is integral to the immersive experience of everything from simple mobile games to triple-A studio titles.

The course will be assessed through a mix of written answers and practical activities.

Music composers, score composers and sound designers who have some experience in composing for TV, film or video and want to broaden their skill set to include scoring and composing for interactive media.

Entry Requirements

Applicants are required to the meet the following criteria:

  1. Have good English proficiency: English language at GCE N(A) Level of 5 and above or equivalent qualifications
  2. Possess working knowledge of Digital Audio Workstation software (e.g.; Logic Pro, Pro Tools, Ableton Live, etc)
  3. Possess a basic level of understanding of the composition and arrangement of music tracks

Educational Qualifications will be validated using true copies of the certificates or emails via applicant’s SkillsPassport

Certification

A SkillsFuture WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) – MED-MPN-4043-1.1 Sound Design and Creation and Certification of Completion by Orita Sinclair School of Design and Music will be awarded to candidates who have demonstrated competency in the course assessment and achieved at least 75% attendance.

This course is certified by SkillsFuture Singapore under the WSQ Skills Framework for Media (Course Code: TGS-2022014492)
